Eligibility Requirements

Open Arms Transitional Housing serves individuals and families who:

  • Are currently homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Have low or no income
  • Are committed to achieving personal growth and housing stability
  • Are willing to participate in case management and life-skills programs

Priority is given to:

  • Single parents with minor children
    Veterans
  • Survivors of domestic violence
  • Individuals transitioning out of incarceration or foster care

How to Apply:

  • Initial Interview – Meet with a case manager to assess fit and needs
  • Complete Intake Form – Available online or in person
  • Orientation – Accepted families will attend a program overview and agree to the terms of residency.
  • Submit Required Documents – ID, proof of income or benefits (if any), and a referral (if applicable.)
  • Placement Decision – Eligible participants will be matched to an available unit or placed on a waiting list

How long can I stay at Open Arms?

Transitional housing stays typically range from 6 to 12 months, depending on your individual plan and progress.

Can I bring my children?

Yes. We prioritize placements for families with children and provide family-centered support services.

What happens after I complete the program?

We support your transition to permanent housing and continue offering case management and referrals as needed.

Is there a cost to live at Open Arms?

No. Most residents qualify for fully subsidized stays through government and private funding. Some residents may pay a small program fee based on income.

Do you allow pets?

Due to space and health restrictions, we are unable to accommodate pets at this time.

About the Space

Open Arms currently operates:

  • 4 fully furnished transitional housing units
  • Each unit includes bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living area.
  • On-site support services, including case management and workforce development
  • A trauma-informed design that offers privacy, dignity, and security for every resident

Future plans include expansion to 10+ units and the addition of a dedicated Family Resource Center.
