About Open Arms Organization
Open Arms Organization »How We Started
Open Arms Organization was born out of lived experience, compassion, and a desire to disrupt the cycle of homelessness. Co-founded by Jevon Whaley and Jasmine Bridgewater, Open Arms Organization began with a single mission: to provide underserved individuals and families with a pathway to safe, stable, and self-sufficient living.
Jevon, a case manager with years of frontline experience supporting veterans and vulnerable populations, saw firsthand the gaps in housing services. Jasmine, a community leader and advocate, brought her expertise in family services, education, and crisis intervention to the vision. Together, they launched Open Arms in 2023 with four housing units and a dream to rebuild lives one family at a time.
